Happy Summer!
Has it really been three months?! We’ve been so busy with the move, getting our old home ready for the market, and squeezing in a few trips that these past three months have flown! As I write this I’m on a cruise ship somewhere in the southern Caribbean, and it has been a much needed getaway! Hopefully you have forgiven the less-than-punctual blog and social media posts…there were a few mornings I actually forgot to even brush my teeth before leaving the house.
This is Red Shoes. Red Wine.’s quarterly newsletter/e-zine, and a short and colorful recap of all the adventures we’ve had this past quarter, blog posts that were published, and a reminder to subscribers of all the goodies hidden in the password protected Subscriber’s Only page (sign-up at the very bottom for the password).
Adventures on Instagram
As a reminder, the best way to get updates and follow day-to-day adventures is to follow me on Instagram. In the past quarter on Instagram, and not yet featured on the blog, are costume building, a trip to Budapest, a southern Caribbean cruise from Miami, and our fur babies. Below are the new blog posts published in the past quarter.

Subscriber’s Only Page
New to the blog last year is the password protected Subscriber’s Only page, where I’ve collected all my free downloads (packing lists, patterns, wine sheets, and recipes) just for newsletter subscribers. The preview above is a sample of what’s on the page, and I add more as I create new stuff! New in the last quarter are geologic resources and recipes, so check them out! Please come back any time in the future for more!
What’s Coming This Summer
After this southern Caribbean cruise, our schedules will open up a bit, so I’ll be thrilled to actually get enough sleep every night, and also get back into sewing. I am VERY behind! And since the last quarter was completely consumed by the transition of moving and selling our old home, I got behind on blogging as well. So the blog posts that I hope to publish before the fall are costume builds for Pitch Perfect and Wonder Woman, more cruise tips, the trip to Budapest and Hungarian wine country, highlights from our trips to Europe in 2017 (I’m like really really slow, I know) and British Isles cruise last year, and more skyline and tunnel geology walking tours of Downtown Houston. I’m sure there will be more as things pop up.

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
