Happy Spring Equinox!
This is Red Shoes. Red Wine.‘s quarterly newsletter/zine, the first of its kind on the blog: a short and colorful recap of all the adventures we’ve had this past quarter, blog posts that were published, and a reminder to subscribers of all the goodies hidden in the password protected Subscriber’s Only page (sign-up at the very bottom for the password).
Adventures on Instagram
Sometimes it only takes a few days to photo montage and type out a blog post, and sometimes it takes over a year. I’m quirky like that. The best way to get updates and follow day-to-day adventures is to follow me on Instagram. In the past quarter on Instagram, and not yet featured on the blog, are highlights from our trip to Cabo San Lucas, Jeeping and Hiking in Big Bend National Park, a quick weekend trip to San Francisco/Napa Valley, and two cruises to the Bahamas. I’ll admit it, I love traveling but I’m exhausted! Below are the new blog posts published in the past quarter.

What’s Coming This Spring
Before the next geek convention, I’m planning to finish some Amazon costumes from Wonder Woman, Miranda Barlow costume from Black Sails, and Claire’s red shoes from season 2 of Outlander (dress is ready). We also have a couple trips planned to San Antonio and New England. The blog posts that I hope to finish are costume builds for Dark Rey (concept) from Star Wars and Themistocles from 300: Rise of an Empire, highlights from our trips to Europe in 2016 and 2017 (I’m slow, I know), and if I can manage it without losing it I’d like to write up a tribute to Dana-the-Wonderdog (who passed in 2014 and is the logo for Red Shoes. Red Wine.). I’m sure there will be more because you know me…

OMG, your costumes are gorgeous! I’m a huge fan of the Outlander book series so it’s fun to see the wardrobe come to life!
Thank you Elizabeth! I’m a huge fan of the books/show too and have waaaaay too many costumes for our Texas heat!
I love this idea of a quarterly recap of what you’ve been up to, Sheila! You’ll have to keep me posted on the response to these posts.
Thank you! And certainly! I mean…as long as you don’t mind the constant texts 😉
