Cruise Packing Lists: Backpack & Rolling Suitcase Packing Checklists

I cruise about twice a year (this year it’ll be four cruises!).  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people pull into the port and unload carts full of bags for cruises.  That’s too much stuff!  I don’t even check bags.  Ever.  Yep, I can travel to Europe for two weeks with just a carry-on, and to be honest, it’s much more enjoyable not carting around all that extra crap anyway.  I’ve made a two-part checklist for cruising that includes essentials and luxury items that should fit into (1) a backpack and (2) a single rolling suitcase.

In a prior post, Cruise Tips: Planning and Packing, I share 10 universal tips that I’ve learned through the years of cruising everywhere from Alaska to the Caribbean & Bahamas to the British Isles & Mediterranean.  And even though I pack light and efficiently, there are a few items I have to make room for when I cruise, so I’ve also recently shared My Cruise Kit: The Practical & the Ridiculous, which are 10 practical items that I won’t cruise without and 5 ridiculous items that find their way into my bags.  I know it’s a lot to process, and you’ve probably seen a ton of “must packs” on Pinterest.  But vacations, especially cruises, should never stress or overwhelm you!  Planning and packing is part of the fun, so I’ve shared my checklists below.  Keep it simple and have a great time!
