Exploring Gaia Wine & Food Pairing

In this edition of Supper Club Sips, we explored two Gaia red wines on Winter Solstice (and the Great Conjunction of Satern and Jupiter) during a pandemic in a backyard setting. This most auspicious astrological event paired well with great weather, great friends, and great wines.

Wines that we sampled:

Gaia Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Gaia Cabernet Franc 2018

These two fantastic wines came from Domaine Bousquet’s vineyards in the high altitude Uco Valley in the Mendoza region of Argentina. Early in my wine exploration days, I was only familiar with Malbec, so it’s really lovely to explore other varietals from the same region. We paired the Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, spinach soufflé, and mashed potatoes. And we paired the Cabernet Franc with chocolate chip bread pudding. Everything was delightful as we sipped, feasted, and gazed at celestial bodies through telescopes.

As always, everything was lovely and I appreciate Creative Palate for sending over these fantastic samples, and our friends Cory and Sarah for hosting our Supper Club.
