Always the bride and never the bridesmaid, am I right ladies? Or is it the other way around? For me, I’ve never been in anyone’s wedding but mine and my mother’s…so at 40 something, here I am a bridesmaid for the first (and probably only) time! For the bride’s shower, I was tasked with favors and the mimosa bar. And about a week(ish) before the wedding, the bride asked me to put together a bridal suite survival kit. Here’s what I thought we would need and want on the big day.

I’ll be honest, this was fun to put together and I’m so glad she asked. I put mini survival kits together in clutch purses for the ladies in my wedding because we were all getting ready and arriving separately, but for Jaime’s wedding we were getting ready together and I felt like a single large bag would fit our needs better. To stay organized, especially in an emergency, I grouped items into categories and stored them in Ziploc bags by those categories. It’s not a pretty setup like others online, but it was functional.
So what did we actually need/use? Thankfully, not that much: safety pins, Garment/Body/Boob/Fabric Tape, Listerine Cool Mint Pocketpaks Breath Strips, 3 Pack (in my bra!), and HyperGo: Full Body Fitness Wipes. We used my Bluetooth speaker and iPhone charger all day, we rocked the hell out of shapewear, and the bride ran off with my ratty backup bra when she changed out of her wedding dress. It was an awesome day and I thank the bride with big inappropriate hugs for asking this old lady to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. As if she needed me to make her look more beautiful than she already is. Love you, Jaime!
