Exploring Portuguese White Wine & Food Pairing

In this edition of Supper Club Sips, we continued to explore Portuguese wine samples with two white wines. Portuguese wine has quickly become a house favorite and crowd pleaser when dinner partying with friends. And under $20/bottle, I’m more inclined to share anyway.

Wines that we sampled:

Esporao Bico Amarelo 2019

Quinta do Ameal Loureiro 2019 (US debut!)

A birthday celebration with Tex-Mex was the perfect pairing for these delicious white wines. The Bico Amarelo, a blend of Loureiro, Alvarinho, and Avesso, was a celebration of citris! This wine was divine paired with chips and salsa, guacamole, and chicken fajitas. The Quinto do Ameal was 100% Loureiro and packed a punch that squared off well with queso and beef. Who says you have to pair red wines with beef? You don’t need that negativity in your life…just follow it up with cupcakes like we did.

Everything was lovely and I appreciate Creative Palate for sending over these fantastic samples, and our friends Cory and Sarah for hosting our Supper Club.
