Last year on my second trip to Orlando for RunDisney’s Wine & Dine half marathon and Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, I Disneybounded for the first time. And since I have two Ursula costumes, Disneybounding Ursual just felt right. Disney villains fit my personality, and my eyebrows! Here’s how I put together the outfit, and some of the fun shenanigans we had at the parks…

I usually sew my own costumes, or alter, or make something to add to an existing piece, but in this case everything was purchased from Amazon or Etsy. I wanted a rockabilly aesthetic so I found this cute/cheap black dress on Amazon and layered it with simple elements that are so obviously Ursula. Below are the actual items I purchased.
Dress: Dressystar DS1956 Women Vintage 1950s Retro Rockabilly Prom Dresses Cap-Sleeve L Black
Sash: Ribbon Scarf for Women Long Skinny Satin Belt Sash Necktie Neck Scarf ZWJ01, Teal, Free Size
Petticoat: Women’s 50s Petticoat Vintage Crinoline Tutu Underskirts Purple
Wig (currently unavailable in gray, but might be available in the future): Imstyle Wigs for Women Short Bob Wavy Lace Front Drag Wig Synthetic Heat Resistant Hair Natural Hairline with Glueless Wig Cap Shoulder Length 16 Inch
Purse (white glitter): Felice Women Girls Little Mermaid Seashell Purse Cross-body Shoulder Bags Glitter Sequins Chain Evening Purse
One thing I did make several years ago is my wine cork mouse ears. I purchased the sequin ears with red bow and I added cork to the front. As much as it would’ve been cute to have tentacle ears to really drive home the Ursula look, I am still stupid proud of these ears. And they’re very appropriate for the Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Here’s how I made them below.

After running a half marathon that morning (yeah, you read that right, so pardon the bags under my eyes), I wasn’t fooling with my hair, so the wig was perfect for a quick shower and change. We wine and dined around the world at Epcot, visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and closed the day at Magic Kingdom. And espresso wherever we could find it to keep me going. After running 13 miles and walking another 12, I was exhausted…I regret nothing, but I’ll stay an extra day or two next time. If you’re wondering, the outfit held up just fine even on rides.
Never mind that I negated a 13 mile run with so many sweet and savory treats that day, and never mind the wine either. Everything was wonderful! At Epcot, some of our favorites included France, Germany, Spain, and Italy…and we still talk about how awesome the frozen limoncello margarita was! I have got to recreate that tasty beverage at home!
We had plans to go back this year but the pandemic happened, which really cut into my half marathon and travel plans. So we’ll go again next year with new Disneybounding costumes. I’d like to make reversible poodle skirts for the characters Ursula and Abu for me and a poison apple and Simba for my beautiful flawless friend, Melissa. I might even be able to talk her into joining me on one of the races. Up next is Melissa’s Disneybounding Darth Vader, which might look familiar to you if you’re no stranger to the blog. Until then…
(A special thank you to my super awesome husband for playing paparazzi around the parks!)
