I’ve witnessed several friends lose luggage (some recovered later, some never to be found again) while traveling. Hey, travel happens! I don’t check bags anymore. Ever. Yep, I can travel to Europe for two weeks with just a carry-on, and to be honest, it’s much more enjoyable not carting around all that extra crap anyway.
I always travel with a small backpack and a four spinner rolling suitcase (packing list here) that meets most airline requirements for carry-on. The backpack is my carry-on bag for under the seat (think: large purse for you ladies or messenger bag for you gentlemen). In this backpack, I pack all necessary (and some unnecessary) items I may need during the flight from essentials to creature comforts. I’ve shared my Carry-On Bag Packing List (Packing Checklist for Under the Seat) in PDF format below, completely free to download. Also, read about my Tips for Nervous Flyers here.
