Costuming Jimmy Buffett/Margarita Guy from Jurassic World

I’m a 40 something year old woman in a T. Rex suit, and I’m not ashamed.  I have so much fun running around, and dancing, like a complete idiot in the costume.  My husband has one too but he prefers to follow me around and help me see where I’m going (it gets hot and foggy in there!).  So we put together a costume from Jurassic World that he can wear comfortably, and still be my handler…that margarita guy (Jimmy Buffett, actually).

My husband already had a few pieces in his closet such as flip flops and khaki cargo shorts.  Then we bought him the classic salmon colored fishing shirt (Columbia Men’s Bonehead Short Sleeve Shirt, Salmon, Medium) and a plain white cap like this cheap one on Amazon (Dalix Unisex Unstructured Cotton Cap Adjustable Plain Hat, White).  He already owns a pair of Ray-Bans aviator shades but there’s a cheaper option on Amazon (Military Style Classic Aviator Sunglasses, Polarized).

The necessary accessories that make the costume are the margarita glasses (Carlisle Shatter-Resistant Plastic Margarita Glass, 16 oz, Clear).  I painted (Pebeo Fantasy Prisme, Discovery Set of 6 Assorted 20 ml Bottles) the outside of his glasses in case he wanted to carry them empty, they still look like they contain the boozy cocktail.

Additional and very funny accessories are the Pteradactyls.  We attached a miniature (Papo The Dinosaur Figure, Pteranodon) to his hat and a large inflatable (Jet Creations Inflatable Pteranodon Dinosaur, 62″ Wide) to his back.  I can’t take credit for this idea, I saw it on Pinterest.  My husband finds the inflatable Pteradactyl very annoying but I think it’s hysterical…so I win, he wears it, and everyone loves it.

In addition to my Rubie’s Adult Jurassic World T-Rex Inflatable Costume, I also have a Rubie’s Adult Jurassic World Velociraptor Inflatable Costume.  Twice the fun!  So we attended AllCon in Dallas in March and crashed the party with other equally immature/fun friends.  And this guy walks through with his margaritas…

And became the party.  His costume was instantly recognized and he could drink his booze way easier than we could in our dino suits.  Smart move, Jerome!

And I leave you with this “awkward family photo” of my husband and I.  I think this one needs to grace the cover of our Christmas cards this year.  Rawr, baby!
