Part 3: The Fun Isn’t Over Yet!
When we planned this trip back in October, our excitement level over the festival events far exceeded anything else we hoped to see or do in Miami, but after all was said and done, the festival surprisingly came in second to the pure beauty and vibrancy that is Miami. Such a mixture of cultures, nationalities and walks of life. To say we had a marvelous time would be putting it mildly. Here are a few final highlights:
Wynwood Walls and Art District: The murals here are nothing short of amazing, to say nothing of the other types of art media on display. If you can appreciate art…even the tiniest bit…you will LOVE Wynwood. The creativity and color exhibited here are astonishing. I wish every city had a Wynwood!
Nikki Beach: We only had time for a quick drink, but would definitely return if ever in Miami again. The entrance alone was like an oasis – overflowing with beautiful orchids of varying colors. This would be an ideal location to spend the day, enjoying the ocean breeze from one of their luxurious loungers, sipping a cocktail and letting the world just fade away.
South Pointe Park Pier: Views. For. Days. That is all.
Our final stop of the trip was lunch at Smith & Wollensky. While they have a Houston location, I’m quite sure it does not come with this view! Arguably the best view of any restaurant in all of Miami. Lunch was amazing. The starter, Beef Bacon (house cured and smoked bacon with bleu cheese dip) was out of this world! And the lobster BLT was no slouch, believe me.
This truly was the perfect final stop. Afterward, we very reluctantly headed to the airport and said farewell to Miami, a city that dazzled us to no end. We hope to see you again soon, Miami!
So…where to next???
