Don’t throw away those corks! I keep mine, plus ask for them when I’m out and about. And when I have enough for a project, I make something to keep or give as a gift. Corks are little wooden memories, and I’ve yet to see any of them go bad. So I’ve collected a round-up of wine cork crafts from small to large here!

Cork Keychains
Great for gifts and easy to assemble, these cute keychains can be made with only eye screws (Zinc Plated Metal Eye Screws 1.18 Inches) and split rings (1″ Nickel Plated Split Key Chain Rings). We gave these out as party/wedding favors after we got married (read A Chic Wedding that Didn’t Cost a Gazillion here).
Cork Magnets
Also great as wedding favors, or just sprucing up your fridge, these magnets only need E6000 glue (E6000 230010 Craft Adhesive) and strong craft magnets (Strong Ceramic Industrial Magnets). Hollowing out and inserting flowers optional. I made 200 of these babies for a friend’s wedding favors (read Wedding Things and Stuff for Other People here) and kept a few for myself.
Cork Ornaments
Similar to the keychains, these celebrations of joy only need mini eye screws (Mini Screw Eye Pins) and a Christmas tree to hide in. We have a couple dozen in our ornament bins and plan to give out sets for Christmas this year (if you’re reading this and receive a set, please act surprised when the time comes!).
Cork Light Garland
So cute I wanted to keep mine up year-round, these garlands are easy to make and only need mini eye screws (Mini Screw Eye Pins) and twine (Natural Jute Twine), and then just weave the garland around a strand of lights! A strand of these were given to me last Christmas and I love them so much!
Cork Candles
These can be made as small or as large as you like, and cutting the corks in half is optional of course. The 24 that I made for my friend’s wedding were the votive size (Unscented Clear Glass Wax Filled Votive Candles).
Wine Cork Mouse Ears
Representing my love for wine even at Magic Kingdom (well, we were there for Disney’s Wine and Dine), we made these mouse ears while in Orlando with ears we bought in a gift shop (but you could make them ahead of time as well- Minnie Mouse Ears Rose Gold). Read how I made them here.
Cork Wreath
This project requires more corks and time, but I’ve had mine for years. I started with a Styrofoam wreath (Styrofoam Extruded Wreath, 14″) and covered it in burlap (Creative Wide Burlap Fabric Craft Ribbon On Spool, 10 yd.) to give the hot glue something porous to adhere to. I preferred the chaotic array, but I’ve seen some wreaths with neater rows.
Cork Letters
These are fun to do and require about 50 corks per letter (MPI MDF Classic Font Wood Letters and Numbers, 9.5-Inch, Monogram W). They are EASY, you just hot glue them standing out from the letter. They’re great for home decor, as a gift, or at a wedding. My friends J & S are getting a set very soon for their wedding!
Cork Boards
By far my favorite cork project, but also the most consuming. I’ve made four of these boards for gifts and for my home as well. I buy open frames, attach peg board to the back and get to hot gluing! The key, should you try this at home, is to glue corks in matching/similarly sized pairs first, then lay them out on the board to see what fits where. Surprisingly, corks come in all sizes and heights! Just be sure to purchase a strong hanging set (Heavy Duty Assorted Picture Hangers Kit with Screws) for the back, these boards are heavy!
I also have a Wine Cork/Bottle/Box Crafts Pinterest board with more ideas and creations I’ve either made or waiting to try if you’d like to follow along. I’d love more ideas! What do you make with your corks?
